BNV : তাই তোমরা এমন কিছু করো না যাতে অপরেব্যথা পায়৷ মিথ্যা বলো না, ছলনা করো না,
KJV : Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
YLT : Having put aside, then, all evil, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all evil speakings,

ERVEN : So then, stop doing anything to hurt others. Don't lie anymore, and stop trying to fool people. Don't be jealous or say bad things about others.

BNV : হিংসা করো না, কারো সম্পর্কে নিন্দাবাদ করো না৷ এসব মন্দ বিষয়গুলি তোমাদের অন্তর থেকে দূর করে দাও৷
KJV : As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

BNV : নবজাত শিশুর মতো হও, খাঁটি আধ্যাত্মিক দুধের জন্য আকাঙ্খা রাখ, যা পান করে তোমরা বৃদ্ধিলাভ করবে ও তোমাদের পরিত্রাণ হবে৷ তোমরা এর মধ্যেই প্রভুর সেই দয়ার আস্বাদ পেয়েছ৷
KJV : If so be ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious.

BNV : প্রভু যীশু হলেন জীবন্ত প্রস্তর৷ জগতের লোক সেই প্রস্তর অগ্রাহ্য় করল; কিন্তু তিনিই সেই ‘প্রস্তর’ য়াঁকে ঈশ্বর মনোনীত করেছেন৷ ঈশ্বরের চোখে তিনি মহামূল্য, তাই তোমরা তাঁর কাছে এস৷
KJV : To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious,

ERVEN : The Lord Jesus is the living stone. The people of the world decided that they did not want this stone. But he is the one God chose as one of great value. So come to him.

BNV : তোমরাও এক একটি জীবন্ত প্রস্তর সুতরাং সেই আত্মিক ধর্মধাম গড়বার জন্য তোমাদের ব্যবহার করতে দাও, যাতে পবিত্র যাজক হিসাবে তোমরা আত্মিক বলি উত্‌সর্গ করতে পার, যা খ্রীষ্টের মাধ্যমে ঈশ্বরের কাছে গ্রহণীয় হবে৷

BNV : আর শাস্ত্রেও একথা আছে:‘দেখ, আমি সিযোনে একটি প্রস্তর স্থাপন করছি, যা মনোনীত মহামূল্য কোণের প্রধান প্রস্তর৷ তার ওপর য়ে মানুষ বিশ্বাস রাখবে তাকে কখনই লজ্জায় পড়তে হবে না৷’যিশাইয় 28 : 16

BNV : যাঁরা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করে তাদের কাছে সেই প্রস্তর (যীশু) মহামূল্যবান; কিন্তু যাঁরা তাঁকে অবজ্ঞা করে তাদের কাছে তিনি হলেন সেই প্রস্তর:‘রাজমিস্ত্রিরা য়ে প্রস্তর বাতিল করে দিয়েছিল, সেটাই হয়ে উঠল অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রস্তর৷’গীতসংহিতা 118 : 22
KJV : Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
YLT : to you, then, who are believing [is] the preciousness; and to the unbelieving, a stone that the builders disapproved of, this one did become for the head of a corner,
RV : For you therefore which believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner;

BNV : শাস্ত্র আবার এই কথাও বলে যাঁরা বিশ্বাস করে না তাদের পক্ষে;‘এটা এমনই এক প্রস্তর যাতে মানুষ হোঁচট খায়, আর সেই প্রস্তরের দরুণ অনেক লোক হোঁচট খেয়ে পড়ে যাবে৷’ যিশাইয় 8:14 তারা ঈশ্বরের বাক্য অমান্য করে বলেই হোঁচট খায় আর এটাই তো তাদের বিধি নির্দিষ্ট পরিণাম৷
KJV : And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

ERVEN : For them he is also "a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes people fall." People stumble because they don't obey what God says. This is what God planned to happen to those people.

BNV : কিন্তু তোমরা সেরকম নও, তোমরা মনোনীত মানবগোষ্ঠী, রাজকীয় যাজককুল, এক পবিত্র জাতি৷ তোমরা ঈশ্বরের আপন জনগোষ্ঠী, তাই তোমরা ঈশ্বরের আশ্চর্য কর্মকাণ্ডের কথা বলতে পারো৷ যিনি তোমাদের অন্ধকার থেকে তাঁর অপূর্ব আলোয় নিয়ে এসেছেন, তোমরা তাঁরই গুণগান কর৷
KJV : But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
YLT : and ye [are] a choice race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired, that the excellences ye may shew forth of Him who out of darkness did call you to His wondrous light;
RV : But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for {cf15i God-s} own possession, that ye may shew forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

ERVEN : But you are his chosen people, the King's priests. You are a holy nation, people who belong to God. He chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He brought you out of the darkness of sin into his wonderful light.

BNV : আগে তোমরা তাঁর প্রজা ছিলে না কিন্তু এখন তোমরা ঈশ্বরের আপন প্রজাবৃন্দ; একসময় তোমরা ঈশ্বরের দয়া পাও নি কিন্তু এখন তা পেয়েছ৷
KJV : Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
YLT : who [were] once not a people, and [are] now the people of God; who had not found kindness, and now have found kindness.
RV : which in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
RSV : Once you were no people but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy.

BNV : প্রিয় বন্ধুরা, তোমরা এই পৃথিবীতে বিদেশী ও আগন্তুক৷ এই জন্য আমি তোমাদের অনুরোধ করছি, দৈহিক কামনা বাসনা থেকে নিজেদের দূরে রাখ, কারণ এসব তোমাদের আত্মার বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করে;
KJV : Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
YLT : Beloved, I call upon [you], as strangers and sojourners, to keep from the fleshly desires, that war against the soul,
RV : Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

ERVEN : Dear friends, you are like visitors and strangers in this world. So I beg you to keep your lives free from the evil things you want to do, those desires that fight against your true selves.

BNV : তোমরা এমন লোকদের মধ্যে বসবাস করছ যাঁরা সত্য ঈশ্বরে বিশ্বাস করে না, তারা বলতে পারে য়ে তোমরা ভুল কাজ করছ৷ তাই সত্ এবং ভাল জীবনযাপন কর, তাহলে তোমাদের সত্ কাজ ও স্বচক্ষে দেখে প্রভুর প্রত্যাগমনের দিন তারা ঈশ্বরকে মহিমান্বিত করবে৷
KJV : Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by [your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
YLT : having your behaviour among the nations right, that in that which they speak against you as evil-doers, of the good works having beheld, they may glorify God in a day of inspection.
RV : having your behaviour seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
RSV : Maintain good conduct among the Gentiles, so that in case they speak against you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
ASV : having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
ESV : Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
ERVEN : People who don't believe are living all around you. They may say that you are doing wrong. So live such good lives that they will see the good you do, and they will give glory to God on the day he comes.

BNV : জগতের শাসনকর্তাদের বাধ্য হও; প্রভুর জন্যই তা কর৷
KJV : Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
YLT : Be subject, then, to every human creation, because of the Lord, whether to a king, as the highest,
RV : Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord-s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
RSV : Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,

ERVEN : Be willing to serve the people who have authority in this world. Do this for the Lord. Obey the king, the highest authority.

BNV : রাজ্যের সর্বময় কর্তা হিসাবে রাজার বাধ্য হও৷ অন্যায়কারীদের শাস্তি দিতে এবং যাঁরা সত্ কাজ করে তাদের প্রশংসা করতে রাজা কর্ত্তৃক য়ে নেতারা নিযুক্ত, তাদের বাধ্য হও৷
KJV : Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
YLT : whether to governors, as to those sent through him, for punishment, indeed, of evil-doers, and a praise of those doing good;
RV : or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
RSV : or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right.

BNV : এইভাবে তোমরা ভালো ভালো কাজ করে, সেই সব মূর্খ লোকদের তোমাদের সম্পর্কে মূর্খের মত কথা বলা থেকে বিরত কর; ঈশ্বরও তাই চান৷
KJV : For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
YLT : because, so is the will of God, doing good, to put to silence the ignorance of the foolish men;

ERVEN : When you do good, you stop ignorant people from saying foolish things about you. This is what God wants.

BNV : স্বাধীন লোক হিসাবে বাস কর; কিন্তু এই স্বাধীনতাকে অন্যায় কাজ করার ছুতো হিসেবে ব্যবহার করো না, বরং ঈশ্বরের লোক হিসাবে জীবনযাপন কর৷
KJV : As free, and not using [your] liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
YLT : as free, and not having the freedom as the cloak of the evil, but as servants of God;
RV : as free, and not using your freedom for a cloke of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
RSV : Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil; but live as servants of God.

ESV : Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
ERVEN : Live like free people, but don't use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Live as those who are serving God.

BNV : সকল লোককে যথোচিত সম্মান দিও৷ সব জায়গায় সকল বিশ্বাসী ভাইদের ভালবাস৷ ঈশ্বরকে ভয় কর আর রাজাকে সম্মান দিও৷
KJV : Honour all [men.] Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
YLT : to all give ye honour; the brotherhood love ye; God fear ye; the king honour ye.

BNV : দাসেরা, তোমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের মনিবদের সম্মান করবে এবং তাদের অনুগত থাকবে৷ কেবল দয়ালু ও ভাল মনিবদের নয়, নিষ্ঠুর প্রকৃতির মনিবদেরও বাধ্য হও৷
KJV : Servants, [be] subject to [your] masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
YLT : The domestics! be subjecting yourselves in all fear to the masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the cross;

BNV : কারণ যদি ঈশ্বর সম্বন্ধে সচেতন এমন কেউ অন্যায়ভাবে পাওয়া কষ্টের ব্যথা সহ্য করে, তাতে ঈশ্বর সন্তুষ্ট হন৷
KJV : For this [is] thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
YLT : for this [is] gracious, if because of conscience toward God any one doth endure sorrows, suffering unrighteously;
RV : For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.
RSV : For one is approved if, mindful of God, he endures pain while suffering unjustly.

ERVEN : One of you might have to suffer even when you have done nothing wrong. If you think of God and bear the pain, this pleases God.

BNV : বাস্তবে যখন অন্যায় কাজ করার জন্য তোমরা মার খাও এবং তা সহ্য কর তাতে প্রশংসার কিছু আছে কি? কিন্তু ভাল কাজ করে যদি কষ্টভোগ সহ্য কর তবে ঈশ্বরের চোখে তা প্রশংসার য়োগ্য৷
KJV : For what glory [is it,] if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer [for it,] ye take it patiently, this [is] acceptable with God.
YLT : for what renown [is it], if sinning and being buffeted, ye do endure [it]? but if, doing good and suffering [for it], ye do endure, this [is] gracious with God,

BNV : ঈশ্বর এই জন্যই তোমাদের আহ্বান করেছেন৷ খ্রীষ্টও তোমাদের জন্য কষ্টভোগ করেছেন, আর এইভাবে তিনি তোমাদের কাছে এক আদর্শ রেখে গেছেন, য়েন তোমরা তাঁর পদাঙ্ক অনুসরণ কর৷
KJV : For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
